Afro-Mystik Morphology Om Records Release date: April 22, 2003
The shaman has come to enlighten us all through music in the form of six band members by the name of Afro-Mystik. Their second album, Morphology is exactly that, a blending of tribal sounds, house inspired bass lines, soulful vocals by Omega, and a couple tracks with MC Capital A lending rhymes over these morphed beats. This music will have you dancing around a fire praising the earth and its inhabitants. I’ve never heard a better blend of soul and tribal music than this. MC Capital A’s lyrics are laced with a hippy quality but are nonetheless still potent. The voice of Omega is powerful, seductive, and relaxing. The music itself, however, is what shines brightest on this album. The ability to blend samples, house, vocals, all with the over-powering influence of tribal sounds is incredible. A must for anyone who has a love for tribal music with a soulful and chilled out vibe. |
