Our beloved fellow groover and Groove Radio on-air personality, April McClellen passed away in a tragic car accident on December 26, 2008. We are deeply saddened by the news and wish to extend our condolences to her family and loved ones. She was truly a remarkable person and we will remember her well. We set up this message board in hopes that the old groovers and new friends can connect and share messages. April, we love you, RIP.

April my love, I just found out that you are not here anymore. Our years at Groove I cherish so so much. Your laugh, your smile, the shananigans we'd get into, you me Nelu and Alison.. What I'd give to be able to go back in time and hug you again....

sammy i'am so very sorry for your loss april was one hell of a women and where she is now she still is...if ever you need someone to talk to we are here..i remember the birthday party holly had for her son holly dave april lisa and i and holly brithdayboy and lisa son we all has a blast.....i have the pic something i'll always keep close to my heart ...april i love hon always.......

Never came on here to post anything about what had happened.. April was the sweetest and most fun person in the world. When I came down to Cali to hang out with the grooveradio peeps, I was like 18, she was so great to me. If I can dig up old pics of her and I, I will post them somewhere for everyone. Always will be a staple in this community and always missed by me. <3

Icezebra2002: no April Whitney worked at KROQ from 1980 to 1992 and then KEZY from 1993-1997. She was a different DJ. April McClellan started working at Groove Radio in 1996.

Alan Freed passed this very sad news on to me. This is awful. It's hard to believe. I have not seen April since working with her at grooveradio.com in Santa Monica, but she was so energetic, so postive and so full of life.
God bless you April and thank you for the joy you brought into so many people's lives.

April, you were an amazing part of life for all of us. Even though it had been years since we had seen each other, I still remember your warmth, care and loving smile. It is obvious how much you inspired and uplifted people and that will not change for many lifetimes to come. Music, laughter and love always,

April, One of the most loving and caring persons I have ever met in the music industry(aside from her there is no other). You will always be remembered as one of the coolest persons I met in the music industry & got too work with at Groove Radio. You will be missed April but always remembered.
